LFF renews mandate of CEO Nicolas Mackel
The board of Luxembourg for Finance has decided at its meeting on February 27th to renew the mandate of the CEO Nicolas Mackel for a second period of four years from July 2017 to June 2021.
Over the course of his first term as CEO of Luxembourg for Finance, Nicolas Mackel has greatly contributed to help position Luxembourg as a leading financial center in Europe, in particular on issues such as Renminbi business, climate finance or financial technology. Nicolas’ priorities since taking over the reins in 2013 have been to strengthen LFF’s activities in communication and press relations as well as the strategic development of investor promotion with a view to target and attract relevant financial institutions to Luxembourg.
The board is pleased to continue to work with Nicolas and the dedicated team he has built up over the past 4 years to pursue the ambitions set out in the Luxfin 2020 vision for the financial centre. Over the next four years, LFF will thus focus on the diversification of Luxembourg’s financial sector, by deepening its common efforts with other relevant stakeholders to attract new financial services institutions and activities, including in the area of financial technology, and thus consolidate Luxembourg’s role as a key EU hub and international competence centre.
Pierre Gramegna, Minister of Finance and Chairman of Luxembourg for Finance comments: "One of the principal reasons for Luxembourg’s success in international finance has been a strong culture of dialogue between the government and the financial industry and a commitment to join forces for a common cause: the development of the Luxembourg financial centre. This is precisely what Luxembourg for Finance, as a true success story of a private-public partnership, embodies. Together with the Board of LFF , I would like to congratulate and thank Nicolas for the substantial work achieved and look forward to seize future opportunities with him and his team."
