Every now and then Luxembourg leaders stop talking about venture capital and structured finance – both of which are alive and healthy – and admit, as Finance Minister Luc Frieden did in London last Autumn, that investment fund administration is what we do best. We do it better than most because we chose to specialise in this area and because many of the brightest and the best in banks, legal firms and consultancies are focused on keeping Luxembourg ahead.

At 2.3 trillion euros, the size of the market justifies the development of niche outsourcing services that reduce fund overheads and enable the industry to keep a lid on total expense ratios. Such services range from the electronic filing of regulatory documents to the collection of trailer fees.

The launch of SEQVOIA’s KIID distribution engine is the latest example. The module allows users to disseminate Key Investor Information Documents to multiple recipients, ensuring that only valid documents are sent and in the format required. The service was launched following extensive consultation with fund promoters.
