Corporate Social Responsibility

At Luxembourg for Finance (LFF), Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is embedded at the core of our purpose and operations.

As part of our mission to position Luxembourg as the international financial centre of choice, LFF promotes a dynamic and responsible ecosystem where financial institutions, innovators, policymakers, and stakeholders find a stable base for international financial operations, a gateway for global capital, and a trusted facilitator of cross-border finance.

Our agency’s CSR approach and the themes we address are aligned with the “Ambition 2030” strategy, which positions Luxembourg as a bridge to global resources and opportunities, while supporting Europe’s competitiveness and innovation. These goals are encapsulated in the four pillars of Ambition 2030: connecting stability with opportunity, unlocking a more competitive Europe, shaping tomorrow’s finance, and mobilising capital for a better future.

As holders of the Socially Responsible Enterprise (SRE) label from the National Institute for Sustainable Development and Corporate Social Responsibility (INDR), we are committed to continuous improvement in line with INDR’s guidelines. This is reflected in our day-to-day operations, where we actively implement and uphold the highest standards in all areas of our work, as outlined below:

  • Commitment to excellence: LFF is dedicated to upholding the highest standards across all its activities. As a public-private partnership, we ensure transparent and responsible management of both strategic initiatives and day-to-day operations, building on strong governance and oversight, notably via our Executive Committee as well as the LFF Board.
  • Stakeholder engagement: we actively collaborate with the Luxembourg State and PROFIL, the financial industry federation, financial institutions, policymakers, investors and other stakeholders, maintaining high governance standards of neutrality, integrity, and trust. Social responsibility is deeply embedded in our interactions with both local and international partners, whether through business development initiatives, event organisation, or communications.
  • Strategic Governance & Global Collaboration: as part of our commitment to responsible engagement in the financial ecosystem, we actively contribute to the governance and strategic direction of key national and international initiatives. Through our membership on the boards of the Luxembourg Sustainable Finance Initiative (LSFI), LuxFLAG, the Luxembourg House of Financial Technology (LHoFT) and the World Alliance of Financial Centres (WAIFC), we foster cooperation and knowledge-sharing to promote the development of innovation and sustainable finance.
  • Communication & Thought Leadership: through the production of insightful publications and reports on Luxembourg’s financial centre and key international finance topics, we deliver accurate information to our stakeholders. As the primary point of contact for foreign journalists and international stakeholders, we ensure clear, responsible communication that effectively conveys the vision and strategic objectives of Luxembourg’s financial centre.
  • Promoting sustainable finance: we increasingly highlight the financial centre’s commitment to sustainable finance, with Luxembourg leveraging its expertise to help drive the transition towards a more sustainable global economy.
  • Responsible procurement: across all activities, we seek environmentally friendly practices, including reduced material use and responsible sourcing of promotional items. Whether organising international seminars, hosting delegation visits, or participating in global trade fairs and conferences, we prioritise venues, suppliers and logistics that minimize environmental impact and adhere to sustainable guidelines whenever possible.
  • Environmental Impact Management: we regularly review our environmental practices, including energy and water efficiency, travel and recycling, ensuring our operations reflect a strong commitment to reducing carbon emissions.
  • Inclusive and Empowering Workplace: we participate in the Luxembourg Gender Finance Task Force and foster a collaborative and supportive work environment where all employees are given equal opportunities to grow, engage, and innovate. Our inclusive hiring practices ensure diverse talent is embraced, and continuous professional development and regular training empower our team to remain adaptive and forward-looking.
