Luxembourg ranks as the 4th financial centre in the EU according to the GFCI 32

The attractiveness and expertise of Luxembourg’s financial centre remains internationally recognised. According to the new semi-annual ranking of the Global Financial Centres Index (GFCI 32) published on 22 September, Luxembourg has moved up the ranking and is now positioned fourth in the European Union and sixth on the continent, ahead of financial centres such as Zurich.

“This new ranking highlights the dominance of American and Asian financial centres. Further European integration is needed to strengthen the domestic market, and through that the attractiveness of our financial centres and thus the financial industry as a whole,” comments Nicolas Mackel, CEO of Luxembourg for Finance.

The GFCI is published by Z/Yen Partners, in September and March, in collaboration with the China Development Institute.
