The Global Boardroom, the Financial Times’ award-winning digital conference, returns for its eighth edition in December 2024 to debate strategies for growth amid continued geopolitical, economic and technological disruption.

The event takes place as businesses adjust to the repercussions of a critical year for democracy, with half of the world’s population going to the polls. Meanwhile, armed conflict continues in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The avoidance of a global recession has fuelled a more optimistic economic outlook, but debt burdens remain high and the path to looser monetary policy is beset by inflation uncertainty. Trade tensions persist as competition mounts over emerging technologies and greener supply chains. Artificial intelligence is disrupting business models, but scrutiny is shifting from innovation to regulation. Climate action continues, yet there is still a sizable gap between net zero pledges and a successful energy transition.

The Global Boardroom will gather more than 100 leading voices from business, finance, government and academia, in conversation with top FT journalists, to discuss these issues and much more, and consider the key actions required to manage disruption and strengthen industries and economies worldwide.
