Luxembourg for Finance will host its Outlook on 2027 event, taking place on Monday, 07 December 2026 from 18:00 to 22:00 CET at the Philharmonie in Luxembourg.
Mr Gilles Roth, Luxembourg’s Minister of Finance, will open the event, followed by a keynote address, and a panel discussion featuring prominent voices from the financial industry.
This exclusive gathering will offer a unique opportunity to engage with industry leaders and explore what lies ahead for the financial sector.
Bringing together leading economists and strategists, the event will explore the global macroeconomic outlook, geopolitical shifts, market opportunities, and emerging risks. Discussions will also cover capital flows and investment strategies, policy and regulatory developments, European competitiveness, and digitalisation and AI. Together, these discussions will tackle some of the most pressing forces shaping global finance today.

Attendance is free of charge and the conference will be followed by a walking dinner.

Gilles Roth

Gilles Roth was born on 1 March 1967 in Luxembourg.
After graduating from the Athénée de Luxembourg in 1986, Gilles Roth studied law at the Centre Universitaire de Luxembourg and the Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL) in Belgium, where he obtained a degree in law. He then completed his university studies in 1991 with a degree in business administration and management from the Institut d’Administration et de Gestion of UCL.
Following the legislative elections of 8 October 2023, Gilles Roth was appointed Minister of Finance on 17 November 2023 in the coalition government formed by the Christian Social Party (CSV) and the Democratic Party (DP).
Gilles Roth was elected municipal councillor in 1993 and became mayor of Mamer in 2000. Gilles Roth joined the Parliament in April 2007 and in 2013 he became Chairman of the CSV political group. Successively re-elected to Parliament, he co-chaired this political group from 2021 until he joined the Government. From 1991 to 1994, Gilles Roth practised as a lawyer, then as Avocat à la Cour at the Luxembourg Bar. In 1995, he became a government attaché at the Ministry of Finance, before being seconded to the Luxembourg Court of Auditors and the Permanent Representation of Luxembourg to the European Union in Brussels. In 1998, he returned to the Ministry of Finance and became government advisor (Conseiller), then senior government advisor (Premier Conseiller de Gouvernement). He also held the position of Government Delegate to the Administrative Jurisdictions until 2007.

Judith Bogner is a television presenter, event facilitator and commentator for international finance, business and geopolitics based between the UK and Germany. For more than ten years she was one of the main European anchors of the financial news channel Bloomberg Global Television in London. Since 2012 Judith runs her own business, offering event and business facilitation, client advisory boards and strategic consulting. She is also a UK accredited mediator.
Judith regularly leads public and private events for corporate and institutional clients in the financial sector and beyond. Her list of clients include the Federation of German Industries, the Euro Finance Week (Frankfurt), Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Bank of New York Mellon, The Brewers of Europe, Luxembourg for Finance, the Dutch Development Bank FMO, Ergo Insurance, State Street, Scope Ratings, the Institute of Culinary Art, Allianz Global Assistance, Wacom and the Thomson Reuters Foundation.
Born in Germany, Judith has lived in Switzerland, China, Ukraine, France and Italy. She is bilingual in English-German and also speaks Italian, French and Mandarin Chinese. Judith holds a degree in International Business Management and Chinese from the University of Applied Sciences in Bremen.
Daniel Morris
Chief Market Strategist & Co-Head of the Investment Insight Centre, BNP Paribas Asset Management

Daniel Morris is Chief Market Strategist at BNP Paribas Asset Management (BNPP AM) and co-head of the Investment Insights Centre. In this role, he participates in the firm’s investment committee meetings to provide a strategic perspective. As co-head of the Investment Insights Centre, he hosts podcasts, authors and co-ordinates the firm’s investment outlooks and thought leadership on asset allocation. Daniel represents BNPP AM’s house view on assets classes to clients and media. He joined the company in 2015 and is based in London.
Prior to joining us, Daniel was Managing Director, Global Investment Strategist at TIAA-CREF. Before that, Daniel had roles as Global Market Strategist at J P Morgan Asset Management, Senior Equity Strategist at Lombard Street Research, and US Equity Strategist at Bank of America Securities.
Daniel has over 20 years of investment experience. He holds a BA in Mathematics from Pomona College, an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, as well as an MA in International Economics and Latin American Studies from Johns Hopkins University. Daniel is a CFA Charterholder.
Nathan Sheets

Nathan Sheets, Ph.D., is Global Chief Economist at Citi Research. In this role, Nathan leads Citi’s surveillance and forecasting of the global economy and directs the analysis of the firm’s economics team. He interacts closely with Citi’s major institutional clients and internal risk takers, and publishes research on cross-cutting themes shaping the global economy and financial markets.
Most recently, Nathan was Chief Economist and a member of the senior investment team at PGIM Fixed Income. He also has served as Under Secretary of the U.S. Treasury for International Affairs, representing the U.S. government on international economic issues. Previously, he held positions with Citigroup, as Global Head of International Economics, and with the Federal Reserve Board, as Director of the Division of International Finance and FOMC Economist. In addition, Nathan was a senior advisor to the U.S. Executive Director of the International Monetary Fund and a visiting fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics.
Tom Théobald

Tom Théobald is CEO of Luxembourg for Finance, the Agency for the Development of the Financial Centre.
Previously, he served as Director for the Development of the Financial Centre at the Luxembourg Ministry of Finance. Tom sits on the Advisory Board of the Department of Finance of the University of Luxembourg, is Board member of the Luxembourg House of Financial Technology (LHoFT), and was a member of the Luxembourg Trade & Investment Board, as well as a member of the Management Board of the National Data Exchange Platform (PNED G.I.E.).
Prior to joining the Ministry in March 2019, Tom was Deputy CEO of Luxembourg for Finance from 2014 to 2019. He worked as Adviser at the Luxembourg Bankers’ Association (ABBL), where he was in charge of Communication and Press Relations. He also held the position of Secretary of the ABBL Board of Directors and served as an attaché to the Permanent Mission of Luxembourg to the United Nations in New York.
Tom holds a Doctorate in English Literature from Newcastle University in the UK.
Jinny Yan

Jinny Yan joined ICBC Standard Bank in early 2016 as Chief China Economist, and now leads the Global Markets macro team as Chief Economist. Her focus is to engage global institutional investors, corporates and policymakers with market relevant thought leadership, connecting China markets with the rest of the world. Her team launched the Belt and Road Economic research series in 2017, which offers a unique insight into China’s growing connectivity with emerging economies.
The team’s in-depth coverage spans from China’s macroeconomic conditions and policy impact on global markets to opportunities arising from Renminbi (RMB) internationalisation for institutional and sovereign investors.
Prior to joining ICBCS, Jinny was a London-based Senior Economist at Standard Chartered Bank, specialising in China, Europe and cross-border macro themes. Widely recognised as a China markets expert in London, she makes frequent appearances in media and at high-level conferences representing both our stakeholders ICBC and Standard Bank Groups.
