LFF organised networking receptions in both cities. In Geneva, Jan Bumann, Director of the Association of Swiss Private Banks, spoke alongside Minister Roth, highlighting opportunities to deepen dialogue between the two centres. The Zurich reception featured a keynote by Charlotte Mueller, Chief Economist for Europe at Swiss Re, who examined the European macroeconomic outlook for 2026 and the position of small open economies, such as Luxembourg and Switzerland, in an increasingly fragmented global environment.
A workshop in Zurich focused on digital assets and evolving financial market infrastructure. Roundtable discussions covered three areas: cash, securities and crypto, examining the opportunities and regulatory challenges facing the digital assets ecosystem in Europe.
On the margins of the mission, Minister Roth met Swiss Federal Councillor Karin Keller-Sutter in Bern, where the two signed an agreement establishing a structured bilateral financial dialogue, with a first meeting planned before year-end. Minister Roth also signed a letter of intent with the University of St. Gallen on a joint MBA programme.
